Some things never go out of style. Most notably, Influence. 

In this case, I’m also referring to the book by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Earlier today I was dreaming up a certain sandwich (that I’ve never eaten but imagined would be amazing) and needed to fulfill that vision. This required an afternoon grocery store visit.  As I was picking up the essential wheat “bolillo” bun from the bakery my eyes met *Influence* in a….. bargin bin ($4)! Haha, I mean it was published in 2008. But seriously, who knew they sell such chic books at the grocery store? Style is following me everywhere! ;-) I’m excited to add this to my collection!! i received jewelmint's (unseasonable but cute) *bella flora* earrings. although perfect for spring, i won't deny them on this rainy fall day. being a statement on their own, i paired them with a denim shirt and denim J brand bell bottoms to keep with the 70s flower child vibe. thoughts? hope you're having an amazing day!

my evening outfit pics turned out blurry so i took post photos of the look; some imagination is required for the full effect. i paired a classic navy nautical top with leather like pants, teal Manolo Blahnik pumps, and silver jewelry with a harder edge. i like the juxtaposition of traditional and rebellious. what do you think?

a cropped pair of flare jeans...   (and um, walking hand in hand with your lover?) clearly i don't have the knack for lovely phrases and illustrations like cartoonist kim casali, the creator of the adorable *love is...* series. the book compilations of her 1960s series are so cute and a sweet reminder. love is... ______(fill in the blank) ;-)

an exclusive birthday party

my two year old nephews threw me a very upscale and exclusive birthday party this afternoon filled with cupcakes and hugs. they're obsessed with construction and promised to buy me a BIIIIIGG Dump Truck for my birthday. haha, just what i wanted! here are some of the (not so in focus) photos of my afternoon birthday outfit. the outfit for the grown-up party may be another post! hope you had a wonderful day, i've felt very loved today! i didn't order this, mainly because i had no idea it existed, but i certainly wasn't upset when it magically appeared in my mailbox last week; i was happy to welcome this extra-large print magazine of style.com to my coffee table. the site is fantastic and the print version is equally legit. it's really nice to see tommy ton's street scene photos, beauty summaries, and amazing editorials in print. i hope they send the next issue too! did this unexpectedly arrive at your house?

lately i've had my eye on the Christian Louboutin *Pigalle* Leopard Pumps and Python Pumps that offer the most lovely stiletto heel and pointy toe. apparently blake lively has the same affection for this shoe as evidenced by these photos (yes, those are her feetsies below). the cut of this heel is so classic, chic, and basically perfect! also i can't deny my secret love for toe cleavage (i know, it sounds weird but i find it really sexy and if yo' man has a foot fetish you understand!) what heels are you currently lusting over?

wildlife

i'm in constant awe of earth's dynamic terrain and want to experience every bit of it, in every season. i'm currently on the east coast and this time of year is breathtaking. fall's oranges, yellows, bright reds, burgundies... love. i can't stop snapping pictures of our divine nature and buying attire to match the season. :-)

vogue australia's december 2011 editorial offers a look at the special and rustic terrain of africa. i'm not sure what i love more, the photography and styling of this shoot or beautiful africa as a backdrop. my only question, where are the animals? wildlife, please!
